As we look towards 2026, continued integration of AI into healthcare systems is anticipated, with pivotal issues such as potential federal preemption of state laws, increased scrutiny of AI chatbots, and ongoing initiatives by CMS and FDA for AI adoption facilitation. The discourse around patient consent and transparency in AI utilization is expected to evolve, alongside regulatory sandboxes to manage innovation risk.
