3 Lakh Chats Exposed: Elon Musk’s Grok AI Chatbot Allegedly Leaked Private Conversations on Google Chrome

Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot has reportedly leaked the conversations of over 370,000 users, making sensitive content publicly accessible through search engines like Google. A Forbes report revealed that private discussions, including medical inquiries, business details, and even passwords, were indexed online due to Grok’s “share” feature, which generates unique URLs for conversations without user consent. This feature reportedly violates Grok’s terms of service, exposing users to significant risks. Some indexed chats contained alarming content, such as how to manufacture illegal substances and instructions for harming Musk himself. Similar issues arose with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, where user chats unexpectedly appeared in Google searches despite privacy settings. This prompted OpenAI to cease the feature. Musk had previously praised OpenAI’s decision while Grok later faced scrutiny for its practices. The timeline of Grok’s controversial sharing option implementation remains unclear, but users have been raising concerns since January.
