52% of Organizations Implement AI Agents to Boost ROI – Virtualization Review

Google Cloud’s 2025 ROI of AI study highlights a notable surge in enterprise AI adoption, revealing that 52% of executives report deploying AI agents in production. The survey, conducted with 3,466 leaders across 24 countries, identifies “agentic AI early adopters,” comprising 13% of organizations that allocate over 50% of their AI budgets to agents, yielding significant ROI benefits. Early adopters achieve an 88% reported ROI on generative AI versus 74% overall. Key areas of improvement include customer service (43% ROI), marketing (41%), and security (40%).

As organizations invest more in AI—77% are increasing spending—security, data privacy, and system integration are becoming primary concerns. C-suite support correlates with higher ROI rates. Despite ongoing implementation hurdles, 51% of organizations are now moving from concept to execution in 3-6 months, indicating improved AI maturity. This emphasizes the critical role of executive sponsorship and robust data governance in successful AI strategies.
