Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has unveiled its newest Gemini Experience Centre in Troy, Michigan, focusing on ‘Physical AI’ for manufacturing. This facility, part of a collaboration with Google Cloud, aims to revolutionize factory operations by integrating AI-powered quadruped and humanoid robots with advanced sensor arrays, edge computing, and cloud orchestration. Manufacturers can test various applications, including autonomous surveillance, PPE compliance monitoring, and predictive maintenance. TCS’s Physical AI Blueprint is designed to enhance operational efficiency without replacing human workers, fostering a ‘human-in-the-loop’ model. The goal is to empower manufacturers to transition from fragmented AI pilots to scalable solutions. TCS and Google Cloud plan to establish a total of 13 centres by the end of 2026, leveraging Michigan’s robust automotive industry for effective testing and deployment. With over 600,000 global employees, TCS reported revenue of $29.1 billion for the fiscal year ending March 2025, highlighting its significant impact in the IT sector.
