OpenAI’s ChatGPT Atlas, launched last year, aimed to redefine web interaction but faced early criticism for lacking vital quality-of-life features. In its latest update, OpenAI addressed a significant limitation: multi-account login support. Previously, users could create various profiles, but these were confined to a single ChatGPT account, complicating workflows for those juggling work, school, and personal projects. Now, users can seamlessly sign in to multiple ChatGPT accounts across different profiles, ensuring clarity and organization of data.
Adam Fry, the product lead, emphasized that this limitation hindered user adoption of Atlas as a primary browser. The update facilitates streamlined workflows, allowing users to maintain distinct “Work” and “Personal” profiles without constant sign-ins. While Atlas competes with established browsers like Chrome and Safari, its unique “agentic” capabilities set it apart. Recent updates have also included importing extensions, renaming tabs, and organizing pages, addressing users’ needs effectively.
