Cognizant’s latest research highlights a rising trend among companies adopting artificial intelligence (AI) to partner with IT services firms for customized, full-stack solutions. As many enterprises face challenges moving beyond pilot projects, they prioritize bespoke solutions and flexible engagement over cost and speed. The study reveals that 63% of companies identify significant gaps between their AI aspirations and actual capabilities, citing regulatory hurdles and unclear strategies as major obstacles. Notably, 84% of organizations have formal AI budgets—anticipating increases over the next two years—with half spending at least $10 million annually on AI initiatives. Despite higher investments, enterprises remain cautious of generic AI products, often favoring vendors with specific industry expertise and strong integration capabilities. Importantly, AI is expected to enhance job roles rather than replace them, with leaders envisioning collaboration between AI and human workers. IT services firms are deemed the most trusted partners for implementing AI solutions, surpassing other providers.
