A recent Numerator report reveals that 71% of U.S. consumers are adopting AI tools, with 37% using them daily. Key insights indicate that 41% would engage more with AI for shopping if price comparisons across retailers were available in one place. Among the surveyed 5,000 consumers, frequent AI users tend to be high-income, educated Gen Z and millennials in urban settings, with nearly half utilizing AI for professional purposes. In contrast, infrequent users are primarily middle-income Gen X individuals with trade qualifications living in suburban areas. Concerns about AI include malicious use (58%), job replacement (53%), misinformation (53%), and privacy risks (48%). Popular AI tools among consumers are ChatGPT (63% usage by frequent users), Google Gemini (45%), and Microsoft Copilot (29%). Consumer sentiment towards AI is mixed; 45% view it positively, while significant numbers express negative or neutral feelings. The top AI uses encompass research, writing, entertainment, and troubleshooting.
