Starting this week, Google Workspace apps—Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Drive—are enhancing productivity with AI features in the Gemini Upgrade. Gemini reads emails, scans files, and retrieves web information to create personalized documents. In Docs, users can draft content in plain language, while Sheets introduces “Fill with Gemini” to auto-populate tables with real-time web data. Slides will soon enable entire presentations generated from a single prompt, maintaining visual consistency. The “Ask Gemini” feature in Drive allows users to search and summarize documents conversationally. However, these features are behind a paywall, costing $9.99 for Google AI Pro and $19.99 for AI Ultra, leaving free users without access. Additionally, users should be aware of privacy implications, as AI requires access to sensitive information. Although these tools promise efficiency, potential users must consider whether they prefer a hands-on approach to data or the convenience of AI integration.
