Okta has launched Okta for AI Agents, enabling users to locate, monitor, and deactivate AI agents. CEO Todd McKinnon emphasized the need for robust security measures as the technology evolves. Over 17 years, Okta has focused on identity access solutions across various platforms, adapting through cloud security, mobile adoption, and remote work. The platform answers crucial questions regarding agent management by providing a reference architecture for securing AI-driven enterprises. It features an agent discovery tool for identifying unmanaged agents and assigning governance policies. The governance dashboard allows admins to control agent access and includes a kill switch for rogue agents, revoking unauthorized access instantly. Dell Technologies’ CTO John Roese noted industry discrepancies in defining agents, advocating for a clearer understanding that recognizes agents as software systems capable of autonomous functions. Okta empowers customers to track and manage both models and agents, enhancing security and operational efficiency.
