Top 50 Generative AI Tools: SKT’s Adot and Naver’s Papago Make the Cut

Two Korean AI services have made a mark in the global landscape, earning spots in the top 50 most used generative AI tools, as outlined in a report from Andreessen Horowitz. SK Telecom’s AI assistant, Adot, ranked 39th among web products, while Naver’s AI-driven apps, Papago and SNOW, secured the 43rd and 48th positions in mobile app usage. The rankings reflect unique monthly visits for web products and active users for mobile apps as of January 2025. OpenAI’s ChatGPT continues to dominate, boasting nearly 900 million weekly active users, significantly higher than Google’s Gemini. In terms of geographic preferences, ChatGPT and Gemini are favored in Western markets, whereas DeepSeek is more popular in China and Russia. Notably, Singapore leads global AI adoption, followed closely by the UAE, Hong Kong, and Korea, while the U.S. ranks 20th in generative AI product production.
