OpenAI has introduced the ‘Library’ feature for ChatGPT, enabling users to store personal files and images securely in the cloud. Currently, this feature is available for Plus, Pro, and Business subscribers, excluding customers from the European Economic Area, Switzerland, and the UK. Upon refreshing the ChatGPT web interface, users will find the Library section, which automatically saves previously uploaded files, such as documents and images, for easy access later. Users can upload new files through the composer menu by selecting “Add from Library.” While files remain until manually deleted, it’s important to note that deleting a chat doesn’t remove these saved files. To delete files, users can simply select them in the Library and click the delete option. OpenAI commits to purging deleted files within 30 days, likely due to legal considerations. This update enhances user experience and file management on the platform.
