These agents, now generally available, function without human oversight, making them cost-effective alternatives to traditional DevOps staffing. The DevOps Agent acts as an always-on site reliability engineer, significantly reducing mean time to resolution by correlating data across various monitoring tools. Meanwhile, the Security Agent conducts autonomous penetration tests, identifying vulnerabilities in a fraction of the time and cost of manual tests. Both agents support multicloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. With competitive pricing, the DevOps Agent starts at $0.50 per minute, while the Security Agent charges $50 per task-hour, offering substantial savings over conventional methods. However, these agents have limitations; they augment rather than replace human engineers. CIOs should evaluate the implications of centralizing operational intelligence and potential data residency issues.
