Figma Stays the Preferred UI/UX Platform Even with the Rise of Vibe Coding Tools: Survey Findings

Share

ICONIQ Capital’s recent survey of 300 software executives reveals significant insights into the use of AI in design. Despite the rise of AI-powered coding tools such as Replit and Lovable, Figma remains the preferred choice for UI/UX design, boasting an 87% adoption rate. Executives emphasize Figma’s strengths in real-time collaboration, comprehensive component libraries, and a robust plugin ecosystem over AI-specific design tools. While AI features have recently been integrated into Figma, including a prompt-to-code tool and Figma Sites for direct publishing, the urgency for AI-native platforms appears limited. Notably, Figma is also preparing for an IPO following the cancellation of Adobe’s $20 billion acquisition. With an annual recurring revenue of $700 million, Figma’s role in ensuring seamless user experience and alignment among design teams solidifies its relevance in software prototyping, despite the growing competition from AI-driven coding solutions.
