Visa Inc. is set to revolutionize the credit card dispute process by launching six innovative artificial intelligence tools, aiming to enhance efficiency for merchants, issuers, and acquirers. The current manual systems are outdated, leading to increased dispute costs, with Visa processing over 103 million charge disputes globally in 2025, a 35% rise since 2019. Andrew Torre, Visa’s president of value-added services, emphasizes the need for a proactive approach to manage disputes effectively. Three tools specifically target merchants, enabling them to preemptively address disputes, utilize generative AI for response management, and provide detailed order insights to clarify unfamiliar charges. The remaining tools leverage predictive AI for issuers and acquirers, streamlining case analyses and fostering a centralized dispute resolution platform. Alongside these tools, Visa is also integrating a subscription manager to simplify cancellation processes, ultimately reducing confusion and enhancing customer satisfaction. These advancements are part of Visa’s comprehensive strategy to modernize digital payments and improve outcomes for all participants.
