TPConnects Unveils MCP Layer for Enhanced Airline Connectivity

TPConnects Technologies has launched a significant update to its Iris platform with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) aggregation layer. This innovation provides online travel agencies (OTAs), travel management companies (TMCs), and travel sellers with immediate, machine-readable access to over 60 airlines via a single protocol. The MCP layer tackles the fragmentation issue of airline content across New Distribution Capability (NDC), Global Distribution Systems (GDS), and low-cost carrier (LCC) channels. It offers a unified interface that facilitates automated onboarding and discovery of airline capabilities. Co-founder Praveen Kumar highlighted the MCP’s role in the evolving travel ecosystem, emphasizing its necessity for AI-driven commerce and automated agents. The layer enhances the Iris infrastructure by standardizing airline content, ensuring consistent data presentation for better customer comparisons. This integration allows for instant content access and supports innovative, self-updating systems, ensuring travel sellers are equipped for the future of travel retailing.
