A recent VTEX survey reveals that 40% of consumers would appreciate AI offering personalized deals or coupons based on their online shopping behavior. Notably, generative AI tools are becoming increasingly popular among younger shoppers, with 46% of consumers utilizing them for product searches and gift ideas. Among these users, an impressive 89% find Gen AI beneficial for discovering options. The survey highlights that 70% of Gen Z has engaged with this technology, indicating its strong appeal within this demographic. In contrast, baby boomers appear divided on the effectiveness of personalized recommendations, with equal percentages (32%) finding them helpful and unhelpful. Additionally, 25% of boomers struggle to recognize when AI influences their shopping experience, while 42% of millennials feel confident in identifying AI’s presence. This data underscores the growing role of AI in enhancing the online shopping experience across varied age groups.
