Google has expanded its video generation model, Veo 3, to its Gemini API, enabling developers to integrate this advanced capability into their applications. Announced recently, Veo 3 is accessible through Google AI Studio and comes as a software development kit (SDK) template, allowing for creative new app development. This model is priced at $0.75 per second of video and audio output, making it more expensive than its predecessor, Veo 2, which was priced at $0.50 per second. A minute-long video will cost around $45. Google plans to introduce Veo 3 Fast, a more economical version, but details on its release are pending. Videos generated can reach up to 720p resolution at 24fps and include natively generated audio. Each video will feature a digital SynthID watermark to combat misinformation and deepfakes. Note that access to Veo 3 requires a paid subscription or valid API key, excluding free tier users.
