This integration will allow MyCase users to utilize Caseway’s automation software for efficient case law identification and document management. Co-founder and CEO Alistair Vigier highlighted the need to expand infrastructure and plans to hire over 20 new staff to support this growth. Launched amid challenges in legal information management, Caseway offers tools that analyze vast quantities of legal documents quickly. Despite a lawsuit from the Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII) over alleged content scraping, Vigier asserts that Caseway only utilizes publicly sourced court documents. This controversy has ironically boosted user subscriptions, with Vigier optimistic about Caseway’s future as it aims to transform the legal tech landscape.
