Trump’s DOGE Unveils AI Tool Aimed at Easing Regulatory Pressures

The Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has introduced an innovative AI tool aimed at deregulating federal policies. The “DOGE AI Deregulation Decision Tool” evaluates approximately 200,000 federal regulations to identify about 100,000 that could be eliminated, potentially saving the U.S. trillions in compliance costs. The initiative aims to enhance government efficiency and respond to President Trump’s calls for less regulatory burdens on American businesses. As reported by The Washington Post, cutting regulations in half could lead to a $1.5 trillion annual savings, stimulate $600 billion in investments, and yield $1.1 trillion in federal revenue. DOGE’s training for agency staff on the AI tool is set to commence soon. This structured approach will include notices of proposed rulemakings (NPRMs) and public comment periods, with the goal of finalizing rules by late 2025 to “relaunch America.” The tool represents a significant shift in evaluating regulatory frameworks within the administration.
