Zoho, an enterprise software giant with 100 million users across 150+ countries, plans to launch its proprietary large language model, Zia LLM, in Kenya, Nigeria, and other African markets by late 2025. This innovative model will be integrated into Zoho’s suite of enterprise applications at no extra cost. According to Premanand Velumani, Associate Director at Zoho MEA, Zia was developed entirely in-house, ensuring full control over technology and data. It’s tailored for specific enterprise tasks such as data extraction, summarization, and code generation, utilizing NVIDIA’s AI platform. Zia LLM will be available in multiple sizes (1.3 billion, 2.6 billion, and 7 billion parameters) to address different contexts. The rollout aims to enhance AI capabilities in popular tools like CRM, analytics, and HR, without additional licensing fees, supporting African businesses with limited budgets and strict data regulations. Zoho’s revenue in Kenya grew by 39% in 2024, reflecting a strong market presence.
