Gen Z values learning and development benefits—like language lessons and mentorship—68% more than millennials and other generations. Molly Johnson-Jones, Flexa’s CEO, notes that while AI is transforming workplaces, it also creates new opportunities for Gen Z, who are adept at using these technologies. Job seekers expect skill-building initiatives, with over a quarter leaving jobs due to insufficient development options. Flexa’s research shows a 240% surge in job searches for roles with learning benefits since early 2025. Additionally, 64% of job postings now highlight development opportunities such as coaching and sabbaticals. As over 20% of U.S. workers feel a lack of control over their careers, career development is crucial for mitigating burnout and restoring a sense of agency in an evolving job market.
