At the recent Made by Google event, the Google Pixel 10 series took center stage, but a new AI feature for Google Photos also captured attention. Users can now utilize voice commands to edit photos, initially launching with the Pixel 10 in the U.S. This real-time editing capability allows users to see changes immediately after making requests like “restore this old photo” or “remove background cars,” making photo editing accessible to those less experienced with image software. Google showcased this feature with a live demo involving podcast host Alex Cooper and Jimmy Fallon, highlighting how AI can enhance photo quality by adjusting lighting and cropping automatically. Additionally, Google’s commitment to ethical photo editing is reinforced by the integration of C2PA Content Credentials, ensuring transparency about the use of AI in image creation and edits. This feature will roll out to other Android devices and iOS in the coming weeks.
