Hyderabad Cybercrime Police Arrest Man for Circulating Explicit Content
In Hyderabad, cybercrime authorities apprehended a 33-year-old individual for allegedly creating and disseminating sexually explicit and communally sensitive content on social media platforms. Utilizing AI tools, the suspect morphed images to combine explicit materials with distorted religious symbols. He operated fake accounts, impersonating members from various communities to mislead users and instigate disharmony. The investigation started on August 23, following a complaint about disturbing content on Instagram and Facebook aimed at provoking enmity between religious groups. Officials discovered that the accused had accrued approximately 1,500 followers, believing the posts to be authentic. A mobile device used in the crime was confiscated. Legal actions were initiated under Section 67(A) of the IT Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Authorities advised the public to refrain from sharing provocative posts and assured strict penalties for spreading misinformation or hate speech.
