Apple is revamping Siri to create a next-generation assistant powered by advanced large language models (LLMs) like ChatGPT and Claude. This enhanced Siri aims to provide smarter, human-like interactions and a broader array of tasks. Despite delays in development, Apple showcased this “Apple Intelligence” Siri at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference and during the iPhone 16 launch, only to announce in March 2025 that a full rollout wouldn’t occur until 2026.
Upcoming features include personal context, enabling Siri to track user information, onscreen awareness to interact with displayed content, and deeper app integration for more complex operations. The transition to a second-generation architecture has led to the restructuring of Apple’s AI team, enhancing Siri’s development focus.
Speculations also hint at a possible collaboration with AI leaders like OpenAI for an optimized chat experience. The revamped Siri is anticipated to launch alongside iOS 26.4 in spring 2026, promising significant advancements.
