Harvest House, a major European grower cooperative for greenhouse tomatoes, is enhancing its partnership with AgTech company Source.ag by implementing the Harvest Forecast AI technology across its 600 hectares of production. Transitioning from manual to automated, daily yield forecasts, this AI solution offers a 60-day production outlook and integrates seamlessly into Harvest House’s CRM systems. Yvonne Geurten, Harvest House’s commercial director, highlighted the benefits of improved accuracy and timeliness in harvest forecasting, which will help reduce inefficiencies in the fresh produce supply chain. She emphasized the need for retailers to collaborate with growers for better demand/supply alignment to minimize waste. Source.ag’s CEO, Rien Kamman, noted that this partnership addresses the critical challenges of forecasting in the fresh produce industry, especially as climate change escalates food security threats. The AI technology focuses on optimizing supply chain efficiency by delivering reliable forecasts on harvesting and product specifications, ultimately enhancing consumer satisfaction and sustainability.
