Concerning Decrease in Student Reading and Writing Skills Linked to Overreliance on AI Tools

High Court Advocate Nihal Kovali highlighted the vital role of citizens in ensuring equal educational, cultural, and sports opportunities for all children, as mandated by the Constitution. During the inauguration of the Model United Nations (MUN) program at Meridian School, Banjara Hills, Kovali remarked on the necessity for students to have diverse avenues to pursue their interests beyond academics. He emphasized that proper training and equal opportunities are essential to achieving constitutional goals. Kovali encouraged MUN participants to express their ideas freely, noting that today’s students will shape the nation’s future. Additionally, he raised concerns over the declining habits of reading and writing among students, largely due to dependency on AI tools like ChatGPT and Google. He cautioned that such reliance could have serious implications, urging students to prioritize reading and discussions to foster informed opinions and address challenges effectively.
