Conducted in July with 1,047 students from diverse institutions, the findings indicate that while 85% of students utilized AI for coursework, the majority do so to enhance learning, not to cheat. Key uses include brainstorming and studying, yet only 25% confessed to using AI for assignment completion. Students advocate for proactive measures on academic integrity, highlighting the need for education on ethical AI use rather than punitive actions. While 97% acknowledge the importance of addressing integrity risks, many prefer transparency around AI tool usage. Interestingly, 35% of respondents believe AI increases the value of college, challenging common narratives about its devaluation.
