Defence Holdings has unveiled Project Ixian, its inaugural sovereign artificial intelligence product aimed at combating information warfare. The initiative follows a strategic alliance with AI hyperscalers and the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD), significantly boosting shares. Information operations—such as disinformation campaigns and cyber attacks—pose immediate threats, highlighted by the UK Strategic Defence Review 2025’s call for urgent sovereign capabilities. Developed in collaboration with top tech firms, Project Ixian integrates AI-native cloud infrastructure, ensuring resilience from launch. It will enter its commercial phase in December, addressing the pressing need highlighted by Russia’s Operation Doppelgänger, which has manipulated media to spread disinformation. With backing from government initiatives like the National Security Act 2023, Project Ixian aims to enhance the UK’s digital resilience and sovereignty.
