Balaji was discovered dead in his San Francisco apartment in December, with police reporting no signs of foul play. However, his parents have continually disputed the suicide ruling. In a conversation with Tucker Carlson, Altman described Balaji as “like a friend” and revealed he found the situation profoundly upsetting. This incident has sparked renewed discussions about mental health in the technology sector, especially amidst the pressure surrounding AI advancements.
