OpenAI aims to forge partnerships with major Korean companies such as Kakao, SK Telecom, and LG Electronics, enhancing AI integration into Seoul’s vibrant digital landscape. However, concerns arise regarding overreliance on OpenAI’s ecosystem, which may impede local AI advancements. The Korean government is pushing for innovations to position itself as a global AI leader by 2025, but experts warn that neglecting homegrown technologies could jeopardize Korea’s competitiveness in the AI sector.
