Google’s Gemini AI is expanding its presence across platforms, now integrating into Chrome for all users. Previously exclusive to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, the update introduces a Gemini button in the top right corner of Chrome, allowing quick access to AI features. Users can activate it via the default keyboard shortcut (Alt + G). Gemini assists with webpage-related inquiries and general questions, and supports multi-tab comparisons by adding tabs for context.
Though the update is rolling out to regular users, businesses will require additional security measures that delay their access. Designed for Windows and Mac users in the U.S. with English settings, Gemini is also enhancing mobile integration for Android and iOS. Future updates promise features like “agentic browsing” for task completion, smarter address bar queries, and improved security against scams. Skeptical users can easily disable Gemini through Chrome settings, ensuring customizable usage.
