Google has announced a new feature that allows users to share their custom AI assistants, called ‘gems’. These personalized AI tools help streamline tasks, offering solutions for various needs like vacation planning, story writing, and meal preparation. Users can share their gems easily, akin to sharing files on Google Drive. To do so, they must access the ‘gem manager’ on the Gemini AI website and click “Share” next to their created gem. Users can control permissions regarding who can view or edit their gems, mirroring Google Drive’s settings. Launched in 2024 with Gemini Advanced, gems have expanded accessibility, now available to Gemini Business and Enterprise users across 150 countries. By March, all users gained access, with new features like file uploads for further personalization. Gemini also includes pre-made gems, such as writing editors, coding assistants, and brainstorming partners, enhancing productivity and collaboration.
