Google has revamped its Gemini app branding, eliminating the previous designations of “Gemini Pro” and “Gemini Ultra.” Initially announced at I/O 2025, the move reflects a shift toward a unified branding strategy under the single name “Gemini,” encompassing free, Pro, and Ultra tiers that align with Google’s broader AI offerings. The change was implemented on the official website, transitioning from “Gemini” to “Google Gemini.” Mobile applications, however, initially retained the “Gemini Pro” and “Gemini Ultra” labels for subscribers but have since also adopted the simplified “Gemini” branding, with subscription details now accessible under account settings. Google’s objective is to present a cohesive identity for its AI services rather than implying multiple versions of the Gemini app. In addition, “NotebookLM Plus” has been replaced by just “NotebookLM,” maintaining a straightforward tier designation.
