NVIDIA and OpenAI have launched the largest AI infrastructure project in history, committing to develop a minimum of 10 gigawatts of AI data centers powered by NVIDIA technology. This initiative, backed by a potential $100 billion investment from NVIDIA, aims to enhance computational capacity for OpenAI’s upcoming models. Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s CEO, emphasized this partnership as a significant step in advancing AI technology, with the first gigawatt set to deploy in 2026 using the Vera Rubin platform. As the primary compute and networking partner, NVIDIA will collaborate closely with OpenAI to shape future hardware and software development. With over 700 million weekly active users, OpenAI’s infrastructure initiative complements collaborations with Microsoft, Oracle, and others in large-scale AI projects. Greg Brockman, OpenAI’s co-founder, highlighted the strategic importance of this partnership in advancing AI and scaling its benefits for businesses and users worldwide.
