With an earlier €10 million pre-seed round in March, Paid has amassed a total of $33.3 million, boasting a valuation exceeding $100 million. This London-based startup, which emerged from stealth mode in March, introduces a novel approach to AI by focusing on “results-based billing,” where agent makers can charge clients based on the value their algorithms create. This strategy could disrupt traditional SaaS and client/server pricing models, which often lead to financial challenges for developers. Early adopters include the viral sales automation company Artisan and ERP vendor IFS. As AI projects frequently fail to deliver value, Paid’s unique model aims to align compensation with agent performance, making it a potential game-changer in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.
