The feature, available in both the Google app and search results page, leverages custom Google Gemini models, enabling advanced reasoning and deeper topic exploration through text, voice, and image queries. Since the introduction of AI Overviews in 2024, users have shifted towards asking longer, more intricate questions, leading to over a 10% increase in global queries. However, Google acknowledges that while the AI offers powerful capabilities, inaccuracies may arise, and users will be directed to traditional search results when confidence is low.
