OpenAI is expanding its affordable ChatGPT Go subscription to 16 new Asian countries, building on its success in India and Indonesia. Priced around $4.50 per month, ChatGPT Go enhances user experience with ten times more messages and image generations daily, along with a longer memory capacity powered by ChatGPT-5. This rollout aims to tap into emerging markets where smartphone usage and AI adoption are surging, specifically targeting cost-sensitive consumers.
Countries included in the expansion are Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. OpenAI’s VP, Nick Turley, emphasizes that this plan is designed to make AI services more accessible, catering to the needs of everyday tasks like translation and tutoring.
In addition, OpenAI offers premium tiers, including Plus and Pro, for additional features tailored for different user bases, from casual users to professional clients. This strategy showcases OpenAI’s commitment to expanding its global presence in the competitive AI landscape.
