Meet the Nigerian Duo Revolutionizing Job Applications: How Their Viral AI App Transformed Job Searching with a Swipe

Oluwapelumi Dada and his co-founders, David Alade and Daniel Ajayi, received an exhilarating email from David Lieb, a General Partner at Y Combinator, announcing their acceptance into YC for their startup, Sorce. Launched in August 2024, Sorce, originally called Swype, is a revolutionary platform that simplifies job applications through a “Tinder-like” swiping mechanism, using AI to match users with relevant job listings. With nearly 500,000 users swiping over 20 million times, Sorce has emerged as a prominent contender in the job market, garnering attention from major companies like OpenAI and Coca-Cola.

Despite halting monetization to focus on user growth, the startup is gaining traction, ranking as the fourth most popular job app in the U.S. Dada aims to compete with established giants like LinkedIn and Indeed, backed by significant investment from Founders Inc. and angel investors. With a commitment to innovation and efficiency, Sorce is a startup to watch in the evolving job market.
