Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently showcased the company’s advanced AI infrastructure on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), highlighting its newly launched Nvidia-powered AI factories. He stated this initiative represents the “first of many” supercomputing clusters deployed in Microsoft Azure’s global data centers. Each AI factory features over 4,600 Nvidia GB300 GPUs, connected via the high-speed InfiniBand technology, with plans to scale to hundreds of thousands of these GPUs worldwide. This establishes Microsoft as a leader in AI infrastructure, aiming to support demanding workloads from OpenAI and other AI models. While OpenAI partners with Microsoft and is investing $1 trillion in its own AI data centers, Nadella’s post reinforces Microsoft’s established position in the competitive landscape. With 300 data centers in 34 countries, the company is poised to drive next-gen AI developments. Further insights are expected from Microsoft CTO Kevin Scott at the upcoming TechCrunch Disrupt event.
