Unlocking Creativity: The Gemini Nano Banana Model’s Image Generation and Editing Features in Google Apps

Google’s innovative Nano Banana model, renowned for its lifelike image generation via the Gemini app, is expanding its features. The recent integration of the Gemini 2.5 Flash Image model into AI Mode in Google Search and Google Lens enhances user access to advanced image editing and creation tools. A new ‘Create Images’ option appears in Search’s AI Mode, marked by a banana emoji, allowing users to generate visuals from scratch or edit existing images easily. In Google Lens, a new ‘Create’ tab facilitates AI-driven selfies and live captures, streamlining the creation process for users. This tab also features a banana emoji in its shutter button, making it user-friendly. Currently, this update is gradually rolling out to Android devices in the U.S. for accounts enrolled in the AI Mode Search Lab, as Google aims to unify its generative AI features across its entire ecosystem.
