Facebook’s Latest AI Tool Gains Access to Your Unpublished Photos | Tech Updates

Meta has introduced a new AI tool for Facebook users in the U.S. and Canada, aimed at enhancing the “shareworthiness” of images and videos from users’ camera rolls. This tool will scan users’ unpublished photos, upload them to Meta’s cloud, and identify “hidden gems” among their content. The AI will provide suggestions for edits, collages, and creative ideas, all designed to aid users in sharing their best moments. Previous testing in June raised concerns about the use of private media, but Meta has clarified that uploads won’t be used for ad targeting or to train the AI, unless users actively engage with the editing features. The AI will continuously select media for analysis while ensuring data retention remains transparent. This feature, positioned as a time-saving option for photography enthusiasts, is expected to expand further in the coming months, providing fresh inspiration for users.
