Qure.ai Launches the World’s First AI-Driven Tuberculosis Screening Tool for Pediatric Patients

Qure.ai, a Mumbai-based healthtech startup, is set to receive CE Class IIb certification for its AI-based chest X-ray screening tool, qXR, which now extends its pediatric coverage to children aged 0–3 years. Previously approved for ages up to 15, this advancement enables health systems and national TB programs to identify high-risk children for active tuberculosis (TB) even in the absence of symptoms. In 2023, around 1.3 million children under 15 were diagnosed with TB, with those under 5 accounting for a significant portion of related deaths. The AI tool aims to enhance screening efficiency, support clinical decisions, and generate actionable results quickly. Dr. Shibu Vijayan, Chief Medical Officer at Qure.ai, emphasized that this certification is a major step in combating pediatric TB, providing a scalable way to detect and prioritize care. This tool will also integrate with Qure.ai’s qTrack platform and its Treatment Decision Algorithm A, promoting effective TB management in children.
