GM to Integrate Google Gemini AI Technology into Vehicles by 2025

General Motors (GM) Chair and CEO Mary Barra recently discussed the implications of auto tariffs and GM’s strategic positioning within the AI landscape on ‘The Claman Countdown.’ GM plans to enhance its automotive offerings by integrating advanced conversational AI powered by Google Gemini, allowing for personalized driving experiences, such as route planning and message drafting. Starting in 2026, these features will be rolled out through software updates to OnStar-equipped vehicles, beginning with model year 2015. GM is also set to launch its proprietary AI by 2028, tailored to individual preferences, and integrated with a next-gen centralized computing platform. The Cadillac Escalade IQ will debut “eyes-off” driving functionality, utilizing LiDAR, radar, and cameras for safe navigation. With a commitment to privacy and user customization, GM aims to revolutionize personal driving autonomy while enhancing American manufacturing with a $4B investment. This initiative signifies GM’s ambitious drive into the future of intelligent driving solutions.
