Reliance and Meta Unveil ₹855 Crore AI Partnership; RIL Clarifies Transaction Details

Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has launched a joint venture, Reliance Enterprise Intelligence Limited (REIL), in collaboration with Meta Platforms’ Facebook Overseas. This partnership aims to develop, market, and distribute enterprise AI services, enhancing both companies’ technology capabilities. Incorporated in India on October 24, 2025, REIL will be 70% owned by Reliance Intelligence and 30% by Facebook, with a combined investment of approximately Rs 855 crore. Mukesh Ambani announced this strategic initiative during the RIL AGM in August 2025, emphasizing its goal to provide sovereign, enterprise-ready AI solutions for India. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg supported the partnership, viewing it as a crucial step for widespread AI access. RIL clarified that this transaction is not classified as a related party transaction and does not require government approvals. This collaboration follows Meta’s previous $5.7 billion investment in Jio Platforms, showcasing the strong ties between these industry giants.
