Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has launched the Augmented Surveyor 3D (AGS 3D), an AI-driven inspection tool aimed at enhancing inspections of ships and offshore structures. In collaboration with TotalEnergies, a successful pilot of AGS 3D was conducted on an FPSO in West Africa, utilizing drone technology to inspect water ballast tanks. The tool processes data to create comprehensive 3D digital models with AI-enhanced corrosion analytics, improving anomaly detection and safety while streamlining inspection workflows. TotalEnergies plans to expand the use of AGS 3D, highlighting its benefits in optimizing maintenance planning and reducing human risks. Bureau Veritas’ president noted that AGS 3D represents a significant advancement in remote inspection technologies, aiding in effective asset integrity management. This innovation supports data-driven decision-making and collaborative efforts among inspection teams across various marine and offshore sectors.
