Google Clarifies Gemini Home Rollout Confusion and Announces Full Launch Timeline

Google has detailed the rollout of Gemini for Home, which will replace Google Assistant across smart displays and speakers. The transition will initially focus on users in the U.S., with international availability set for early 2026, specifically before the end of March. Notably, the update will be rolled out based on home addresses rather than user accounts, allowing those with multiple homes to manage updates separately. Users are encouraged to provide feedback via smart devices by saying, “okay Google, send feedback.” To be eligible for the first wave of updates, users must sign up for early access and ensure their home addresses are current in the Google Home app. Early user feedback has been largely positive, with remarks calling Gemini a “game changer.” Basic AI features will be free, but advanced functionalities will require a Google Home Premium subscription.
