AI Startup Cursor Secures $2.3 Billion in Funding, Achieving a $29.3 Billion Valuation

AI startup Cursor has secured a significant $2.3 billion funding round, raising its post-money valuation to $29.3 billion, nearly triple since its last funding in June. Founded in 2022 under parent company Anysphere, Cursor specializes in an AI coding tool that aids software developers in generating and reviewing code. Major investors like Accel, Nvidia, and Google contributed to this round. Since its launch in 2023, the tool has achieved over $1 billion in annualized revenue and expanded to over 300 employees. Cursor joins an elite group of AI startups valued above $10 billion, alongside OpenAI and Anthropic. With the coding tool market growing increasingly competitive, Cursor aims to enhance its research and development further.
