VibeWare is a unique video game inspired by the WarioWare series, featuring rapid-fire challenges called microgames. Leveraging advancements in code generation, VibeWare consists of two main components: a core game that plays these microgames and an AI agent that generates, lints, and validates the code for each game. The total cost for developing the core game was approximately $500 using Claude 4 Opus, while the AI-driven microgames cost just about $5.50 to create ten reliable games using GPT-4o. The team presented VibeWare at the “Game Changers Vibe Coding Hackathon” in San Francisco and won. A key insight from their experience revealed that GPT-4o outperformed Claude models in code generation, suggesting that PhaserJS is better integrated within the GPT ecosystem. VibeWare is completely open source, allowing others to generate their own games, and the project can be accessed at their GitHub page: https://github.com/areibman/vibeware.
