Introducing Antigravity: Google’s Innovative Platform for Agentic Development

Google has unveiled Antigravity, an innovative agentic development platform powered by the Gemini 3 model. This free tool, available for Mac, Windows, and Linux, aims to revolutionize coding by offering a new IDE experience that prioritizes agent functionality. Developers can also leverage models like Anthropic’s Claude 4.5 and OpenAI’s GPT-OSS, while enjoying “generous rate limits” to prevent abuse.

The IDE facilitates access to code with essential features such as tab completions and in-line commands, promoting task-oriented coding. Antigravity introduces a unique “agent-first Manager surface,” designed for managing agents asynchronously.

With a focus on user trust, the platform generates “artifacts”—deliverables like task lists and implementation plans—allowing users to validate agents’ work. The integration of feedback mechanisms enables agents to learn from past tasks, enhancing overall functionality. This development adds to Google’s suite of agentic tools, including Gemini CLI and Jules, shaping the future of software development.
