This skepticism is surprising, considering that 69% of teens regularly use AI tools for information gathering, according to a recent College Board report. Kenneth Bouwens, the district’s AI lead, emphasized the need to help students understand the ethical distinctions of AI use in educational settings versus personal use. The district plans to clarify these boundaries, possibly through visual aids like a ‘traffic light’ graphic, highlighting appropriate AI usage in assignments. Understanding and correctly utilizing AI in education remains a key focus for Louisa County this year.
